MISSION STATEMENT

The primary purpose of McKendree University’s Office of Financial Aid is to provide students with financial resources to enable them to pursue a high quality educational experience. We are committed to provide timely financial assistance while complying with all federal, state, and college policies and regulations. The Office of Financial Aid will also continually strive to provide coordinated support among all college offices and work as a team to provide a positive environment.

STATEMENT OF ETHICAL PRINCIPLES AND CODE OF CONDUCT

As a member of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), the McKendree's Office of Financial Aid adopted the NASFAA Statement of Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct for Institutional Financial Aid Professionals.

McKendree provides an educational experience of the highest caliber at costs that are significantly less than most private, liberal arts colleges in the United States. Our national “best buy” status (a barometer comparing cost and quality) for several years running is testament to the value of a McKendree education.  Given that each family’s financial circumstances are different, we explore options with you and put together advice and assistance that will meet your particular needs.  We take genuine pride in knowing that we review every family’s situation on an individual basis.  In the end, our simple mission is to make a McKendree education financially possible for every student we admit.

A McKendree Degree is Worth the Investment
We believe that families should consider a college education as an investment in the future, an investment that provides a life-long return that is both measurable and immeasurable.  Despite the difficulty in measuring educational value, recent studies show that individuals with a bachelor’s degree earn an average of 33% more than those without.  Another factor for consideration is that a McKendree degree provides a strong basis for continuing your education in graduate or professional school.  Each year, the acceptance rate of our students applying to medical and veterinary schools, law schools, professional and graduate schools is outstanding.  Of course, additional information about the value of a McKendree education is available on our website and in all of our admission materials.

We also believe that students are transformed academically, socially, and emotionally from life here at McKendree.  So how much is our degree worth?  It depends on what you choose to do with it, but we’re confident in saying that it can be the most important self-investment you’ll ever make.  We encourage you to examine value – what do I receive for my investment?  Some college experiences are simply worth more than others.  Evaluate both quality and cost as you make your choice.  If you decide McKendree is the right choice for you, we are eager to assist you in making it affordable.
