Career Services provides a variety of programs, ranging from selecting a major during your first year to preparing for graduate school or a job search upon graduation and thereafter.  Individual career counseling, resume/cover letter critiques, mock interviews, and a variety of other services are available.  The Career Resource Room provides access to books and journals, focusing on career planning, graduate/professional school application, and job search information.  We highly encourage you to view our Career Planning Guides on this site for a tremendous amount of information in regards to career planning, the job search, and graduate school admissions.

As a student you can attend workshops on interviewing, resume/cover letter preparation, networking, busineses ethics, and graduate/professional school admissions.  By connecting with College Central Network, your resume will be available on-line to employers seeking to fill their job vacancies and you can view job openings.  The Bearcat Job Finder, McKendree’s job bulletin, also provides employer vacancies.  In addition, the Career Services Office hosts/co-hosts several job fairs and other networking events throughout the year.

McKendree University is proud of its strong undergraduate internship program.  The internship experience complements traditional coursework by providing students with senior status the opportunity to apply classroom theory in a work environment.  Internships are available each semester in a variety of companies and organizations.  Please contact Career Services to discuss how an internship can benefit you.

We encourage all undergraduate and graduate students to visit us soon after they arrive on campus.  We are here to assist you in order to make your life at McKendree an even more valuable experience.
