Alumni Association
Every student who completes at least two full-time consecutive semesters is considered an alum of the college. Alums are identified with the class year they graduated. In the case of a non-degreed alum, they are also identified with the class year they would have graduated with had they remained at McKendree. Students who graduate in December of any given year are considered a graduate of the following year (December 2005 graduates are recorded as Class of 2006).
The Director of Alumni Relations, Jeff Campbell '87, has his office in the Alumni House and is a member of the Office of Institutional Advancement. The Alumni Association is governed by the Alumni Board which meets three times each year on the first Saturday of March, June and November. The June meeting is the Annual Meeting and is open to all alumni. Board officers are elected at the Annual Meeting.
When you are on campus come visit Alumni House (home of the Alumni and Development Offices) located at 216 N. Alton Street, directly across from the Chapel parking lot. The Alumni House hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Do you want to get involved?
There are three ways to get involved: become a Class Agent, a Mentor or Alumni Ambassador.
Class Agent: Alumni who serve as Class Agent help us to maintain connections with members of specific classes. For example, a member of the class of ’73 can help us connect with those class members because he or she knew those students, and likewise with each class. It’s a great way to keep in touch with your classmates! To become a Class Agent, click here.
Mentor: Alumni who serve as a mentor offer their professional expertise to current students. The mentor program is web-based and conducted primarily through email communications with the students. Mentors may help students make connections for career possibilities, assist with interviews, provide insight on the job market, etc. To become a Mentor, click here and follow the steps.
Alumni Ambassador: Alumni who serve as an ambassador come to campus to participate in such events as the annual scholarship days, senior lunch, commencement, new student convocation and more. These alumni function as an extension of the Alumni Director and the Alumni Association. To become an Ambassador, click here.
