2009 Commencement is Sat., May 9, 9 a.m.
There will be some overflow seating in the Intramural Gym where there will be a video feed. Guests without tickets should proceed directly to the Intramural Gym. We advise you to arrive early as these seats are first come, first served
INCLEMENT WEATHER UPDATE
McKendree University recognizes the desire of its graduates to hold Commencement Exercises on the front lawn of campus and will proceed with an outdoor ceremony under most circumstances. If the weather forecast calls for light rain or drizzle, we recommend that guests wear shoes that are appropriate and bring suitable rain gear.
However, if the weather is deemed dangerous and severe, the ceremony will be moved indoors to the Melvin Price Convocation Center. The decision on whether to move the ceremony indoors will be made on Saturday morning and information may be obtained after 5:30 a.m. by accessing McKendree’s website at www.mckendree.edu or by calling 618-537-4481.
If weather conditions require the ceremony to be moved indoors, the following changes will apply:

Undergraduate Candidates
Faculty, staff, and candidates should assemble in the Intramural Gym at 7:45 a.m. Each graduate has been issued (4) Inclement Weather Tickets. These tickets are clearly marked and are required to gain access to the Melvin Price Convocation Center. We are sorry but no exceptions will be made to gain access to the ceremony without Inclement Weather Tickets.
2 p.m. Commencement Ceremony
Graduate Candidates
Faculty, staff, and candidates should assemble in the Intramural Gym at 1 p.m. Between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., all guests will be admitted to the Melvin Price Convocation Center. No tickets will be issued.
Please do not bring strollers; the seating in the gym is very crowded and there will not be room to accommodate them. They cannot be parked in the aisles or in front of the bleachers due to access issues and fire codes. There will be a special seating section for those in wheelchairs.
Please note there will be a Senior Farewell Service on Friday, May 8 at 4:30 pm in The Hett for undergraduate students. Graduates and their families are invited to attend; you may sit with your family and friends during this service and will not wear your cap and gown. The Service will be immediately followed by a Graduation Celebration sponsored by the Alumni Association. Invitations have been mailed to your address of record. If you have not received an invitation, please contact Alumni Relations at 618-537-6813.

In the event of inclement weather, the graduation celebration on Friday, May 8 will be moved into Ames Dining Hall. Please check the website Friday afternoon for potential updates.
All graduates (bachelor and master degree candidates) and their families are invited to attend. Tickets for 2009 graduates are free of charge, guests are $10 each. You must have a ticket to attend. Tickets are available 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday at Alumni House, 216 N. Alton, Lebanon, IL 62254. 618-537-6813
